Vegetarian and vegan food in Bali

In recent years, many vegetarians have chosen Bali as their base because of its amazing beaches, delicious food, and relaxing yoga

Bali also hosts the famous Bali Vegan Festival, which takes place every year in October

If you stay in the busier party areas in the south, such as Kuta and Seminyak, you will still have plenty of vegetarian options

However, we definitely recommend heading north to Ubud. There are plenty of restaurants serving smoothies, vegan gado-gado (an Indonesian salad with tofu, rice crackers, and peanut sauce), tempeh satay, vegan pancakes, and coconut ice cream. Even non-vegan restaurants often have a vegetarian or vegan menu, or at least a few plant-based dishes

We have also put together a selection of vegetarian and raw food cafés on the island of Bali, where even the most devoted meat lovers will be surprised by the variety of dishes and will definitely want to try them
